The Kalona City Council met on Monday and dealt with some financial issues that had popped up at the end of the year.  City administrator Ryan Stensland says they approved a pay estimate of over $49,000 for All American Concrete for the Downtown Revitalization Project.  Stensland says this is the final payout for the project before it starts back up again in March.  The Council also approved a budget amendment for money spent outside their original budget for the purchase of the Kalona Post Office and for the Downtown Revitalization Project.  By state law once you go outside the parameters of your budget you have to do an amendment to show people how you have spent the funds.  Stensland says this is something many communities do a couple times a year.
