Washington has had a very wet year. Iowa State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says Washington set a record this year for rainfall. Hillaker says Washington received over 60 inches of rain for the year. He says most of the rain came between June and August. Hillaker notes that despite the wet summer, the weather was warm and dry from late September to mid November to make it nearly perfect for harvesting.
