The state volleyball tournament field is set. Last night regional final matches were held across the state in all classes. First in Class 1A, in Mount Pleasant, Lisbon, the team that eliminated 14th ranked Keota in a five set match, was taking on Holy Trinity and Holy Trinity won last night in three. In fact there were a lot of three set matches and out of all of the classes only five five set matches.

In 2A, Mediapolis beat West Liberty in three. Mepo came out of the regional the area 2A schools were in.

In 3A, number one ranked and defending state champs Mount Vernon, the team that was in Washington’s regional and beat Clear Creek Amana who eliminated Washington, was a winner over 8th ranked Solon in three. Also 11th ranked Williamsburg beat Oskaloosa in three. Williamsburg was in the regional with the other conference schools, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield, Fort Madison and Keokuk. The Raiders head back to state where they reached the semifinals last year.
