The Washington County Board of Supervisors has approved North Liberty construction company LL Pelling to begin the Wayland Road Shoulder Paving Project as early as next week. Wednesday Washington County Assistant Engineer Jacob Thorius told supervisors Pelling’s $883,000 bid, the lowest of four companies, was well under the more than $1 million estimated cost of paving asphalt shoulders from Washington seven miles south 320th Street.  A pre-construction meeting is planned for Wednesday to determine details of the project and how it will affect traffic on Wayland Road.  Thorius said construction is slated to begin sometime shortly thereafter.  Stay tuned to KCII for construction updates.
