Southbound U.S. 218 restrictions near Riverside begin Wednesday.  A hot-mix asphalt resurfacing project on U.S. 218 near Riverside from the intersection with Iowa 22 south 4.4 miles to 160th Street in Washington County will cause lane restrictions in the southbound lanes from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays beginning Wednesday, Sept. 15, until Friday, Oct. 29, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Mount Pleasant construction office.  Traffic will be directed through the work zone using flaggers. Also, there is a 12-foot width lane restriction. L.L. Pelling Co. is the contractor for the $1.65 million project.
