The Lone Tree Lions football team kicks off the season on Friday, their head coach says they’ll be a pretty young team. Mike Miller has been the Lions coach since they split from a partnership with Highland after the 2005 season. Miller says they had several seniors last year with eight graduating, so this year they’ll be young. They have three seniors, seven juniors and they’ll look to several sophmores to fill in the gaps. Miller says like previous seasons they are going to be a running team and a team defenselessly that can shut down the run. The Loins’ biggest rival, Highland was moved out of their district with reclassification and redistricting. The Huskies were moved up to 1A, but Lone Tree and Highland will still get to play each other in a non-district game to open the season on Friday.
