The Washington Demon softball team won their annual tournament Saturday. It was a three team round robbin tournament between Washington, Sigourney, and WACO. Originally Winfield-Mount Union was suppose to come but they didn’t make it over. The Demons beat the Sigourney Savages in the first game 12-2 in five innings. In that game Lauren Vittetoe had a double and two rbi’s, Caitlin Fishback had a hit and two rbi’s, and Maddie Bohr had a stolen base.

In the Demons’ second game, Washington beat WACO 12-0 in four. In that one Caitlin Fishback had a hit and two rbi’s. Joni Erwin had two hits and two rbi’s. Blair Farris had a two hits and an rbi. Greta Smeins pitching only gave up one hit and struck out eight. Demon Head Coach Angie Shrader felt they got better as the day went along.

Now the Demons will host Fairfield tonight. A team they beat twice in Fairfield earlier this season. Down their the Demons won the first game 13-7 and the second game went to extra innings with the Demons winning 7-4.
