The Washington Chamber of Commerce has created a new program for current chamber board members or anyone who’s interested in serving on the board of a non-profit organization. Chamber Executive Director Tim Coffee says the group’s new “Board Make Over Program” is a good investment by teaching participants the basics of non-profits. He says it also provides tools that can be quickly implemented. Chamber board member Charla Howard says she wishes she had taken similar training prior to volunteering at the chamber, calling the new program “extremely advantageous”. The “Board Make Over Program” will take place during the afternoon of June twenty second and twenty eighth at the Washington County Extension Office. The total cost of the program is $25 for chamber members, $45 for non-members. To attend the program or for more information, contact the Washington Chamber of Commerce.
