As the out going Washington Principal prepares to start his new job, he says there a quite a few things he’s proud of during his time at Washington High School. Shane Ehresman is going to be the new superintendent at Lynnville-Sully. One of the things he’s proud of is the Washington High School’s improvements on academics both on No Child Left Behind standards and an increase in advanced placement classes for students. He’s also proud of the implementation of the silver chord program, which promotes student volunteering in the community. To receive a silver chord at graduation a student must volunteer 50 hours a year during their three years at the high school.
