The Kalona Public Library is putting on a new program that aims to help people invest properly and effectively. The Library has received grant money from the American Library Association for the effort. They will host courses that combine face-to-face and online learning taught by Iowa State University Extension family resource management program specialists during the 18 month program. The library is also receiving five hundred seventy five dollars worth of library books and DVDs about investing to add to their collections. Three different courses will be offered at six weeks each: one for those who are first-time investors, one for those investing for retirement, and one for retirees. The first course begins on September 30th. Contact the Kalona Public Library for more information.
