The Demon softball team will open their season tonight hosting Columbus. The Demons have most of their team back from last year’s regional final team. The Demons came one game away from the state tournament but lost to the eventual 3A champion Clear Creek-Amana, a team that went the entire season undefeated. Last season the Demons won big at Columbus 16-0. As they open the season one significant change is the pitching circle has been moved back three feet so instead of 40 feet it’s now 43 feet. The thought is this will increase offense and more runs will be scored. You can hear tonight’s season opener right here on the one to count on KCII we’ll be on the air at around 7:15.
