A new poll should come as good news to Republicans seeking public office in Iowa. The survey by Rasmussen Reports shows 53% of likely voters support incumbent GOP Senator Chuck Grassley, while 40% favor Democratic Challenger Roxanne Conlin. The report shows two other Democratic Challengers, Bob Krause and Tom Fiegen, have the support of roughly 30% of likely voters respectively. In the gubernatorial race, Democratic Incumbent Chet Culver takes 38%, while Republican challenger, and former Governor Terry Branstad has 53%. Other Republicans seeking the GOP nod in the June Primary are close behind Branstad. Bob Vander Plaats captures 45%, while Rod Roberts earns 41%. The surveys polled 500 people in Iowa. It was conducted last week. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
