Washington Schools are eligible for more than $280,000 as part of the settlement of a class action lawsuit between brought by the state of Iowa against Microsoft. Technology Director Jeff Brock says the money is being administered by the state department of education, and comes with guidelines on what can be purchased. Another requirement attached to the money is that purchases be inline with Iowa’s Core Curriculum. Washington is among some of the first districts in the state to have their application for this funding approved. The money comes from unclaimed settlement funds stemming from an anti-trust lawsuit against Microsoft.
