The Louisa County Conservation Board is partnering with AmeriCorps to host an Earth Day clean up project on the Iowa River. Nathan Quarderer with AmeriCorps says last year they picked up 45 tires, computer monitors, refrigerators and other various items. He says they plan to focus on a nine mile stretch of the waterway from Fredonia to the Highay 61 Bridge near Wapello. The group is looking for volunteers, and John Boats to haul and sort trash. The clean up is scheduled for April 17th Starting at 8:00 am. Contact Louisa County Conservation for more information.
