The last bucket Mid-Prairie senior Tanner Miller hit ended up being a milestone. The Golden Hawks played Solon tough in a 50-46 quaterfinal loss at the state basketball tournament. With nine seconds left Miller hit a basket that gave him 18 for the game and ended up putting him at 1,000 career points exactly. Mid-Priarie Head Coach Don Showalter says that makes him only the seventh Mid-Prairie player to hit the 1,000 point mark in Golden Hawk history. Showalter says he wasn’t sure Miller was going to reach it because they ended up having two games postponed due to snow and not made up. So Miller didn’t have a full schedule. Miller is headed to the University of Iowa in the fall on a football scholarship.
