press play to hear from CJ City Councilman Harold Prior

Many area rivers are at or above flood stage, and a city councilor from Columbus Junction says they are just as vulnerable to flooding as they were in 2008. Harold Prior says the city is waiting for financial assistance to make improvements to their levy system, and are still in the planning stages trying to figure out what they’ll do if they don’t receive government funding. Prior says on the bright side, many levies to the north of Columbus Junction have not been repaired since the flood of 2008, which relieves a lot of pressure in the Columbus Junction Area. Prior also says the flooding risk is not as high right now as it was in 2008.
