press play to hear from interim engineer Jacob Thorius

Washington County has a message regarding secondary roads this spring: If you don’t need to be on them, stay off. Interim Engineer Jacob Thorius says the unpaved roads are always extremely susceptible to damage during when things start to thaw out. He says that’s especially true considering all the snow the area received this winter. Thorius people caught “mudding” on class B roads can be charged with criminal mischief. Supervisors have authorized the engineer’s office to put a five-ton embargo on Fir and Ginko Avenues. Free permits can be obtained for those hauling perishable items or home heating fuel.
