The Washington School District has hired a new superintendent. Board members met during a special meeting Wednesday and unanimously approved a contract with Dr. Mike Jorgensen. He’s been serving as superintendent at the Southeast Webster-Grand School District for the past 13 years. Jorgensen has also served as an education consultant at the Arrowhead Area Education Association in Fort Dodge. His contract in Washington begins in July, he’ll be paid a $130,000 annual salary.
