Washington County Supervisors will begin work on next year’s budget Friday. Chairman Jim Miksch says they were in pretty good financial shape last year, and feels they are again this year. He says most departments don’t use up all of their budget, so that leaves the county with a healthy year-end balance. Miksch says the board has instructed county departments to increase spending by no more than one percent. Supervisors have two budget work sessions scheduled for Friday.
