The Demon girls were a little sluggish out of the holiday break hosting Fort Madison, but in the third quarter Washington got a double digit lead and beat the Bloodhounds. It was a low scoring first quarter with the Demons up 9-7 after one and 22-18 at halftime. Early in the second half, Fort Madison’s leading scorer Alexis Lozano-Dobbs picked up her third and fourth foul in a matter of seconds and without her on the floor Fort Madison seemed to struggle to get any kind of offense going. With Lozano-Dobbs on the bench the Demons began to put some distance between them and the Bloodhounds and ended up winning 54-41. The closest Fort Madison got in the second have was eight points. For the Demons Cassey Sobaski hit some key free throws down the stretch,and ended up with 22 points, Lucy Libe had 11 and Macey Wright was perfect from the line with 4 points. Demons are now 8-1 and 3-0 in the conference they host Mount Pleasant on Friday.
