The ninth ranked Washington Demon girls basketball team is scheduled to go on the road tonight to face the Williamsburg Raiders. The Raiders entered the season ranked 13th but lost their first three games to Maquoketa, Solon, and Central Clinton-Dewitt. As for the Demons they have opened with three wins beating Ottumwa, Mid-Prairie, and Eddyville-Blakesburg. The Demons opened with the Raiders in Washington last season, and saw them come from behind to force overtime and win in overtime. Demon Head Coach Phil Long says as for whether or not they’ll be able to play tonight, nothing has been decided, but it doesn’t look very good given both schools have canceled classes for today and the temperature isn’t expected to get very warm today. If it is postponed, Long says they would hope to make it up as soon as possible because there aren’t a lot of openings for the Demons after Christmas. If they are able to get the game in tonight you’ll be able to hear it right here on the one to count on KCII. We’ll be on the air around 7:15 with the Federation Bank Pre-Game Show.
