Washington County Veteran’s Assistance is hiring a temporary part time employee, in part to help with outreach. This year, the county received a $10,000 state allocation, that must be used for administrative purposes. Even so, some supervisors like Wes Rich, expressed concern over the hire. He says the person might become a vital part of VA operations, and when the state money runs out, the county would have to foot the bill. Supervisors did ultimately approve hiring someone for no more than 8 hours a week at $8 per hour.
