The high school football postseason resumes this evening. First in Class 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks head to Solon to face the two time state champs the Spartans. The Golden Hawks and the Spartans met in the quarterfinal round last season in Solon with the Spartans winning 52-27. Golden Hawk Head Coach Pete Cavanaugh says Solon returns a lot from last year’s squad. Cavanaugh says they don’t plan on changing their approach to Solon compared to last season’s game he says he felt they had the right approach they just need to execute better. Mid-Prairie is coming off a sub-state win over Center Point Urbana 44-14 while Solon beat Mediapolis 48-12. The Golden Haws at Solon and you’ll be able to hear the game right here on the one to count on KCII we’ll be on the air with our pre-game show at 6:45. Winner plays the winner of Davis County and Iowa City Regina on Friday.

In Class A, WACO will host BGM. WACO Head Coach Chad Edeker says the two teams are very similar in their approaches and personnel. He says looking at BGM on tape play some of their common opponents, BGM lined up just like the Warriors did against those teams. The Warriors beat HLV 35-13 While BGM beat Cardinal 41-6 in the sub-state round.

In 3A, Clear Creek Amana travels to play Centerville, the team that eliminated the Demons. Meanwhile, Pella, who beat Williamsburg, will be at Grinnell, who beat Fairfield.
