Some residents of Washington were forced to evacuate their homes last night due to a gas leak. The Washington Communications Center says the leak in the 900th block of North 5th Ave. forced residents out of their home for about fifteen minutes while crews worked to fix the problem. Personnel from the Washington Fire Department, Police Department, and Alliant Energy all responded to the leak.
