Mid Prairie Schools are facing a 570-thousand dollar reduction in state funding in light of the governor’s ten percent across the board cuts. M-P Superintendent Mark Schneider says it’s not just the loss of income that hurts, but also the timing of the cuts. Schneider says the school will have to keep a close eye on expenditures such as overtime pay, travel expenses and utility costs. He says expects many school districts will have to dip into their cash reserves.
