It was a dramatic win for the Demons last night to beat rival Mount Pleasant and make it a special homecoming. Both teams got big plays in the first half, with Darian Cotton going 74 yards for the touchdown on Mount Pleasants first play from the line of scrimmage. But the Demons Parker Turner returned a punt 95 yards for a touchdown. Then Demon Quarterback Jake Redlinger connected with Anthony Ossman for a 51 yard touchdown, but Mount Pleasant got an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Mount Pleasant was up 20-12 at halftime. The Demons came out and forced a punt early in the third and put together a touchdown drive to make it 20-18. Washington got inside the Panther 5 in the fourth but couldnt get it in, they kept the Panthers pinned back and forced a punt. The Demons found themselves fourth and goal at the 12 when Sophomore Parker Turner came out to try a 30 yard field goal with just over a minute left. The Demons hadnt tried a field goal all year. Turner made good on it and the Demons won 21-20. Washington is now 3-1 in the district and Mount Pleasant is 3-1 in the district.
