Funeral Service Announcements

Ninety-one year old Vyrle Grout of rural Riverside has passed away. The body has been cremated and per her requests there will be no services. A memorial fund for the South Sharon Grout Cemetery and Hospice of Washington County has been established. Memorials may be sent to the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona.

Funeral services for 98-year-old Edward J. Hough of Washington will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 11, at the West Chester United Methodist Church with Pastor Marlene Janssen officiating.

Funeral service arrangements are pending for 86 year-old Gerald Fankhauser, of Washington at the Beatty Funeral Home.

Funeral services for 90-year-old Esther Birney of Washington will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with Ilene Schnicker officiating. General calling hours will be held at the Jones & Eden Funeral home from noon until 5 p.m. Friday. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the United Methodist Church where the family will be present to receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Burial will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church, the Halcyon House Good Samaritan Fund or Washington County 4-H.

Funeral services for 81 year-old Lucille Reighard of Washington will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Father Troy Richmond officiating. General calling hours are to be held from noon until 5 p.m. tomorrow (3/8) at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tomorrow in Tobin Hall at St. James Church. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (3/8) at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A general memorial has been established.
