Celebration of life services for 83 year old Clayton J. Sexton of Riverside are 11:00 am Saturday at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City, with visitation preceding the service at 10am and also on Friday from 2 to 7 pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in the Riverside Public Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Iowa City Hospice or the family’s choice.

Roman J. Gevock

Funeral services for 87 year old Roman J. Gevock of rural Brighton are Friday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Family will greet friends Thursday from 3 to 8:30 pm at the church. Memorials for Brighton Volunteer First Responders or The Evelyn Gevock Memorial Scholarship may be sent to the funeral home.

Heidi Kaufman

Services for 79 year old Heidi Kaufman of Washington are Thursday at 10:30 am at St. James Catholic Church, with burial in the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Visitation will be tomorrow from noon to 8 pm at the Jones Eden Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 to 8. A memorial has been established to Living With Blindness.

Memorial services for 96 year old Lester L. Butterbaugh of Wellman, Iowa will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, July 9th, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 3:00 pm to 4:00 Friday at Jones-Eden funeral Home. Family visitation will be 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday. A memorial has been established to Amenity Hospice, Washington County All Veterans Memorial, and Washington County Rescue.

Celebration of life services for 22 year old Jason Marner of Harrisonburg, Virginia, formally of Brighton, will beat  6pm Wednesday at Iowa Mennonite School.  Burial will be prior to the service at 4:30pm at the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 6pm on Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the family present from 6 to 8, and again Wednesday from noon to 4pm at Iowa Mennonite School with family present from 2 to 4.  Memorials have been designated to Iowa Mennonite School and Crook Creek Christian Camp.

Celebration of Life services for 90 year old Marie Snyder of Atrium Village, formerly of Kalona is Saturday (7/3) morning at 10:30 at the Kalona United Methodist Church.  Visitation is Friday (7/2) evening from 4 to 7 at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  Burial is in the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona.  A general memorial fund has been established.

Funeral services for 86 year old Jacob B. “Jake” Shafer of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Fairfield, are Saturday at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation is from Noon to 8 PM on Friday at the Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the family present from 5 to 7pm.

Funeral Services for 86 year old James “Jim” Marsh of Washington will be Thursday morning at 10:30 at the United Methodist Church in Washington. The Beatty Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be held tomorrow from noon until 7PM at the Beatty Funeral Home with the family present from 4-7pm. A memorial fund has been established for the Washington County Historical Society.
