First Baptist Church in Washington will be starting their Youth and
Children’s Ministry for the Fall. Jr. High and Sr High youth will start
meeting on Wednesday September 15th at 7:00 Pm. The Jyf Group will start
on Wednesday September 22nd. at 7:00 Pm. If you have any questions

The Gospel Echoes Banquet is scheduled for Friday Oct. 1st at 6:30pm at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona.

Do hurts, hang-ups or addictions have control of your life? Overcomers in Christ is a Christ centered recovery program. They are an inter-denominational, nation wide organization. Marion Avenue Baptist Church is hosting a senior citizen program. This month’s program features guest speaker, Curt Mayer, principal of the Washington Junior High School. The activity begins at 10 am Thursday, September 2 in the basement of the church. Everyone 55 years and older is invited to come. The St. James Fall Festival is Sunday, September 12th at the KC Hall in Washington. Dinner is from 11am to 1pm. The event is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6 through 12. Pick up and take out is available. The Auction begins at noon. Youth games are from 11:30 to 2:30pm.

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington is holding their final French Toast Breakfast Saturday morning at the church from 7 to 10:30. A garage sale and bake sale will take place as well. All proceeds will benefit Child Voice International and are being supplemented by Thrivent Financial.

The Ainsworth Lions Club is sponsoring a blood drive for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center on Monday, August 30 from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ainsworth Community Church. For more information call Alan Beers at 319-657-4203. Walk-ins are welcome.

Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a blood drive on Monday, August 23 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall in Swedesburg. To donate, please call Jeanie Jones at 319-254-2216. Donors who last gave on or before June 28 are eligible to donate.
