The Washington City Council has passed an ordinance that removed mention of the 30 and 40 mile per hour speed limits on East Washington Street, despite input against the change from United Presbyterian Home CEO and Administrator Mike Moore.

Washington’s City Council did not remain unanimous during Wednesday’s meeting, as Councilman Fred Stark and Bob Shepard voted against furthering an ordinance that would remove the city’s 30 mile per hour speed limit signs on East Washington Street.

Yesterday the Washington City Council tabled and delayed a vote that would lead to an increased speed limit on East Washington on the way to Wal-Mart.
