Mid-Prairie Board Discussing Grants

The Mid-Prairie School Board is meeting tomorrow to talk about grant opportunities, among other things. They will discuss potential grants from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation and hear a grant presentation from Stratalogica.

Mid-Prairie Leans Towards Current Site for New Central Office

The Mid-Prairie School District has been planning the construction of a new Central Office to replace the aging current building. They had previously decided to build a new building rather than renovate the old one, or purchase and existing property.

Cedar Valley All-Conference Team

Dept. of Education Looks at No Child Left Behind Waiver

The Iowa Department will release information on its waiver request for the No Child Left Behind Program today. Mid-Prairie and Keota Superintendent Mark Schneider says they hope to change how they report competency levels to the federal government. Currently, Iowa’s competency level for reading and math is the 41st percentile.
