Half of IMS’s four losses came at the hands of conference rival Lone Tree this season, but IMS outscored the Lions 20-4 in the second quarter to take a 21-point halftime lead and cruised in the second half to a 59-35 win.

Lone Tree jumped out to a 29-15 halftime lead and staved off a furious second half comeback attempt from the Huskies en-route to a trip to the district championship game with a 76-63 win over Cedar Valley Christian.

IMS proved how difficult it is to beat a team three times as they eliminated Lone Tree from post season girls basketball play last night with a 53-38 road win.

Officials shot a mountain lion in Western Iowa last week. Mountain Lions are no longer common in Iowa, although they were before Iowa was heavily settled.
