News Update: Trailer Fire in Kalona

Today, at approximately noon, the Washington County Public Safety Center received a 911 call of a trailer on fire at 107 S. 6th Street, Lot 14, in Kalona, the home of Stephanie Corkery.

Kalona and Wapello Receive CDC Water Fluoridation Award

News Update: Hwy 1 Re-opens

The Iowa Department of Transportation reported earlier this afternoon a single-vehicle crash closed Hwy 1 approximately one mile north of Kalona.  The highway has now been reopened.  KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.

Kalona Garbage and Recycling Rates Raised

The Kalona City Council approved an ordinance last week to raise garbage and recycling fees.  Recycling fees will rise a quarter from five dollars to $5.25.  40 pound garbage bag fees rose a quarter as well, from $1.00  to $1.25.  The new fees will take effect this Thursday, July 1st.
