Kalona Garbage and Recycling Rates Raised

The Kalona City Council approved an ordinance last week to raise garbage and recycling fees.  Recycling fees will rise a quarter from five dollars to $5.25.  40 pound garbage bag fees rose a quarter as well, from $1.00  to $1.25.  The new fees will take effect this Thursday, July 1st.
