The Energy Information Administration is saying national fuel prices are on an upward trend. Data Analyst for the Iowa Office of Energy Independence Kerri Johannsen says Iowa’s average fuel prices have followed the national trend taking a dip in December, and rebounding this first half of January, but still below the national average. Cold weather is to blame in Iowa and the U.S. for the increase in fuel demand. Positive signs of economic recovery and increase in demand are driving up fuel prices.
