Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey says this month’s heavy rainfall is the “most detrimental in southern and southeastern Iowa”, and he expects several counties in the Washington area will receive federal disaster relief funding once a survey of crop losses is completed.

Rain and scattered thunderstorms will be moving out today, with drier conditions expected tonight through Saturday as high pressure settles in. Significant rises and flooding will be found on many area rivers through the weekend.Flooding remains a concern across southeast Iowa as Thunderstorms are expected through the midday.
