The Washington Cattlemen’s Association is again sponsoring the share-a-calf program this year for area FFA and 4-H’ers.
The Washington County 4-H’s Bows and Bullets Club is having it’s first ever Family Youth Shoot Day this Weekend. Shooting Instructor Joel Van Zante says they’ll have activities for kids of all ages. He says they hope to showcase what the organization is all about. an Zante says bows will be provided for archer shooting. He says kids over twelve who want to shoot firearms must bring their own gun. The event is this Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Highland Hideway near Riverside.
As farmer’s prepare for harvest, the 4-H program is reminding producers that they can contribute part of their crop. Iowa 4-H Foundation Associate Director Albert Gruenwald says they have been trying to identify new ways to raise funds in light of recent budget cuts.
