Keota has designated Mid-Prairie as the district they would like to partner with in the future, if things aren’t able continue as they are financially. According to Mark Schneider, superintendent for Mid-Prairie and Keota, last December, he collected attendance, enrollment and student achievement data from surrounding districts. After sharing and discussing the information with the school board, they decided to go with Mid-Prairie. He says the next step is setting up “triggers” that would lead Keota to look at their plan b more seriously. Those triggers could be both financial and education based.
