Mid-Prairie Elementary students have an opportunity to celebrate the New Year all over again this evening. Mid-Prairie’s Chinese Club is holding a Chinese New Year celebration at Kalona Elementary School at 6:30. Chinese Instructor Nicholas O’Brien says in recognition of the Chinese year of the snake, the kids will make paper snakes and learn a modified version of a traditional new years dance. He adds they’ll also make pot stickers by hand. The event is open to all Mid-Prairie elementary students.
