While there aren’t many big lakes in the area, there are plenty of fishing holes to keep local anglers busy this winter. DNR Fisheries Biologist Chad Dolan says a few Washington County Conservation sites are open for fishing, including Clements Creek Pond and Crawford Pond. He says if you are looking for something bigger, Lake Sugema in Van Buren County is within driving distance. He adds that within 2 to 3 years Lake Darling will provide good fishing.
