Road crews have been at work since 5 a.m. this morning, according to J.P. VanSickle, Washington County Maintenance Superintendent.

He stated that there are slick spots on the road due to the wet snow and slush. VanSickle expects the slick spots to be present until mid-morning. Currently crews are putting sand and salt on the county roads and removing the snow.

VanSickle advised that drivers be careful, as it is currently winter weather driving conditions. He advised that gravel roads are still slick and are going to be sloppy once they thaw out.
Four inches of snow have accumulated in the last 24 hours, estimated VanSickle, More flurries expected throughout the day, however he stated that snow is currently melting on contact, making roads wet.

He stated that due to the slush on the roads there are a few slick spots, but he is hoping for the roads to dry yet today. He said he doesn’t look for the roads to ice over tonight.
