Mid-Prairie Girls Need Hot Start at North Cedar

Mid-Prairie girl’s basketball kicks off the second half of the season tonight on KCII.

The Golden-Hawks are 4-2 going into the game tonight as they travel to North Cedar.

Mid-Prairie is shooting 35 percent from the floor and 45 percent from the free throw line and scoring 44 points per game.

They are led by Mariah Swartzentruber with 64 points on the year.

On the North Cedar side they are 5-5 and are shooting 37 percent from the field and 52 percent from the free throw line scoring 45 points per game.

Mid-Prairie head coach Marc Pennington said North Cedar is an improved and dangerous team, especially playing them right out of the break.

“North Cedar is a much improved team, probably the most improved team in our league, so making a long trip up there the first game back from break is no easy task by any means, their kids are playing awful hard so we know we’ll have to play well up there,” Pennington said.
