Louisa County Conservation Offering Extreme Opportunities
Posted: January 4, 2013 @ 6:22 am In Today's Local News
Louisa County Conservation is trying to reach more of the areas youth with a new extreme event series for 2013. Naturalist Brittney Tiller says the first in the monthly Extreme Adventures series will have participants climbing silos. It’s extreme because it’s also covered in ice.
She shares they’ll be traveling to Cedar Falls for the ice climbing, as it’s the only place in Iowa that offers it. She says in addition to tomorrow’s trip, they’ve added another in February for the large number of people on the waiting list.
She adds depending on snow amounts, next months event is Subzero Survival, where kids will build snow shelters and learn ways to stay safe in cold conditions.
