The Washington County Master Gardeners stay busy during the summer with landscaping and special projects, but they also continue to meet even in the wintertime. At their monthly meeting this week, about a dozen members gathered to discuss some of their plans for the coming year.

They also heard a presentation by Tracy Edens about small flower bouquets called Tussie Mussies, which were popular especially in the 16th century.

Next month’s meeting is February 26 and it includes a presentation by Jonathan Poultan called ‘Quest for Blue Day-lilies.’ Poultan has done research on the genetic engineering of flowers.
