A Washington County resident has been nominated to fill the 8^th Judicial District Judge’s position. Washington County magistrate judge Daniel Kitchen says the nominating commission chose him and an Associate District Court Judge out of Oskaloosa.  Governor Terry Branstad has 30 days to appoint one of the candidates. Kitchen says his role as magistrate judge is part-time, and adds this would be a full-time endeavor.
