The power is back on in Washington after an equipment failure caused a number of outages. Alliant Energy’s Justin Foss says the outage affected around 1,100 customers and some of the stop lights near Washington’s downtown. He explains that an issue with a transformer near North Iowa Ave and West 2^nd St caused the outage and the subsequent pole fire. Foss adds they appreciate the calls from customers, which helped them pinpoint the problem and resolve the issue within a half hour.
