Marr Park Program Has Kids Make Gifts
Posted: December 1, 2012 @ 6:23 am In Today's Local News
The Washington County Conservation Education Center is hosting a program to help kids make their own gifts. The Nature Prints Gifts program is this afternoon at Marr Park. The Conservation Board and Naturalist Pam Holz have lined up casts from fish and leaves for printing on fabric. The idea is to create a unique personal gift. They will have handkerchiefs and t-shirts available to put prints on, and a small fee is needed to cover the costs of those material. Otherwise, kids are encouraged to bring their own fabric.
Prints available include: local tree species leaves, local fish species, tropical fish, and other water animals like frogs, lizards, seahorses, and sea-stars. Those attending are asked to wear old clothes because the fabric paint they are using does not wash out.
The program is at 1 p.m. today. Marr Park is about a mile west of Ainsworth.
