Keota Boys Hoping to Continue Teams Success
Posted: December 28, 2012 @ 8:30 am In Today's Local Sports
The Keota boy’s basketball team is sitting pretty with a 7-2 record.
The Eagles dropped their second game of the season by six points to Lynnville-Sully, and their first game against Sigourney by six points as well.
They are shooting just under 40 percent, and have 512 points this season.
After the first half they are led by Luke Lyle with 141 points, but Keota has three players over 100 points, including Lyle, Kolton Greiner with 116 and Nate Owen with 107.
Keota head coach Dan Stout said the break should help his team relax and rest, to get ready for the second half of the season.
“We have [the break] every year, unfortunate this year that we have a couple of extra days missing Thursday and Friday because of snow, and hopefully that won’t effect us too much over the break, but once the kids come back in we’ll be a little rejuvenated hopefully, early one we’ve only been playing five or six, maybe seven kids in the ball game, so it will give these kids a chance for a little rest,” Stout said.
