Huge 3rd Quarter Leads to IMS Win
Posted: December 15, 2012 @ 8:28 am In Today's Local Sports
The IMS boys led throughout in a 71-32 conference win over Winfield-Mt. Union on the road Friday night. IMS used opportunistic defense to force turnovers that led to easy baskets en route to a 32-17 lead at the half. Out of the locker room IMS put things out of reach with a 22-6 run that lasted the entire quarter. Head Coach Dwight Gingerich spoke after the game about what keyed the run.
“We came out after the half, and we were up 32-17 at the half, we came out and got in the pass lanes a little better and just put some pressure on the ball, and got on a nice run in the third quarter,” Gingerich said.
IMS was led by 17 points from Cameron Gingerich and a nice night off the bench from Joel Shetler who ended with 14. The Wolves were led by Kaleb Kongable’s nine points. IMS is now 6-1 in conference play and overall as WMU falls to 1-6 overall and in league play.
