Vacant Washington Building Might Get New Life, and Jobs

A vacant building that’s become deteriorated over many years is being eyed for possible rehabilitation. |
Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson says a company might be interested in what’s known as the old calendar factory. It’s on east-third street and north-seventh avenue. Hinson explained to the Washington City Council Wednesday that he would be bringing a possible action item to the council at a future meeting. The city would consider funding a study of the property to help make the project happen. Specifics were not discussed, but Hinson says that if the site is chosen, it would make for a significant tax base and he says that it could be what he calls a huge boon to the town.
